Protektive Pak Circuit Board REACH, RoHS and WEEE Statement
Posted by Protektive Pak
Regarding European Regulation REACH 1907/2006/CE (Registration, Evaluation and Authorization of Chemicals) a Protektive Pak Circuit Board Shipper should be considered an “article” under the REACH guidelines. Protektive Pak Circuit Board Shippers do not “contain substances intended to be released under normal or reasonably foreseeable conditions of use”. As such, there is no obligation for registration or notification under the REACH Directive. Furthermore, none of the substances listed as “Substances of Very High Concern” (SVHC on list as of 2011-12-19) are intentionally added in the manufacturing of Protektive Pak Circuit Board Shippers.
It is the belief of Protektive Pak that all Protektive Pak products fall outside the scope of the RoHS 2002/95/EC and 2002/96/EC directives. The European directives are to control hazardous substances (RoHS Reduction of Hazardous Substances) in electrical & electronic tools. A Protektive Pak Circuit Board Shipper is not an electrical or electronic tool. Specifically regarding Protektive Pak Circuit Board Shippers none of the following materials have ever been intentionally added in manufacturing: dimethyl fumarate, as well as lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) or polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) as outlined in Directive 2002/95/EC Article 4.1.
The European Community Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE Directive) is not applicable to Protektive Pak Circuit Board Shippers as they are not electrical or electronic equipment.
The product composition information is to the best of our knowledge and may be based on third party supplier information and/or our knowledge and experience regarding typical substance composition found in materials used in ESD control products.
